Minister of Defence Awards 2017

GSME were awarded with the Category 1, 2017 Minister of Defence Awards of Excellence to Industry.

The Minister of Defence Awards of Excellence to Industry were established by the New Zealand Defence Industry Advisory Council (NZDIAC) to highlight and reward the contribution made by industry to Defence.

GSME was the recipient of the “The provision of a Service to Defence less that $15m” Award for the HMNZS CANTERBURY IMAV Apr 17 project.

Having been one of 14 nominations for this award, GSME made the shortlist of only 4 companies and attended the awards ceremony in October 2017 where the award was presented.

GSME regularly completes projects on naval vessels and takes pride in providing this service to the New Zealand Defence Force. 

We are well equipped to deliver marine work to a high standard and within fixed timeframes as well as being able to offer expert solutions to the sometimes unique problems that arise from working on marine vessels.
